Happy New Year Reader!

First, thanks to those who participated in the Friendsgiving Giveaway, and congratulations to all the winners. I thought it was a great way to end the year - perhaps we'll make it an annual event.

Also, I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and found the opportunity to photograph among all the hustle and bustle. I didn't get out with my camera as much as I would have liked. Although, I think that is simply how December goes (at least for me). However, the next few months will be filled with photography.

One of my favorite things about this winter season is all the upcoming online events. After connecting with so many photographers in a webinar, I feel that spark to grab my camera, edit a photo, or start a new photography project. With so many events around the corner, I hope to see you at one or more of them.

Cheers,
Chrissy

It's a new year! And for photographers, that means it's time to update your copyright metadata in Lightroom. In this video, we walk through how to create a copyright preset for Lightroom. Plus, I review the three essential elements that must be present in your image's copyright. Last, we'll cover how to automate the process so every one of your photos has your copyright and contact information embedded in the image file.

Winter landscape photography is as challenging as it is rewarding. Are you taking a snow and ice-filled adventure this year? Learn about my camera gear & accessories that I find helpful for a winter photography trip.

That's right. At least for one more year, we're still crazy enough to collaborate with 50+ photographers from across the globe and deliver 3 days of 100+ live presentations and interactive sessions including keynote talks, instructor presentations, group image reviews, ask-me-anything sessions, gear talks, an attendee takeover, and more. You won't find another event quite like it.

Registration opens January 10th!
And while we wait for the big event, join us one of the webinars below.

1.) Close-up Photography of the Year announced the winners for CUPOTY 04 across eleven categories.

2.) I thoughly enjoyed Anna Morgan's article Practice, Practise, Praxis. It's a good reminder for us all as we start anew in 2023. Also, if you sign up for Anna's newsletter, you'll receive a copy of her ebook Transitions - Autumn Photographs from the Cascadia - 90 pages of sheer delight for the eyes!

3.) Congratulations to Capture Landscapes Photographer of the Year 2022: Sandra Bartocha, and I found some new inspiration in their list of Top 25 Landscape Photographers in 2022.

4.) The Nature Photography of the Year (NPOTY) contest opens for entries on January 16, 2023.

5.) The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards (there really is a contest for everything) announced their 2022 winners. No lion, they are hoot! Actually, I kid, the winning photo is a lion.

6.) Adobe's Content Analysis is raising some privacy concerns. Learn how you can decide if you want to opt-in or opt-out.

Happy Photographing,
Chrissy

Hey Reader, I hope all is well in your neck of the woods. This autumn season has carried me on a series of travel adventures through enchanting forest trails. Since my last newsletter, I've returned to explore the Canadian Rockies and their golden larches. I was lucky enough to wake up a few mornings with the landscape blanketed in fresh snow. Next, I journeyed over to Pennsylvania and spent some quality time with family while attempting to balance that time photographing this year's abundant...

Hey Reader! Have you managed to find some time to venture outdoors with your camera lately? Time feels like it's flying, and it's hard to believe we're already in July. Last month, I enjoyed camping with friends and photographing the lightning bugs (that's what I called them growing up) in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The experience was a nostalgic reminder of my childhood and watching the fireflies light up the landscape around our house. Being literally surrounded by swirls of...

Hey Reader, I hope you are enjoying the sunshine as we approach the first official day of summer. My exhibition ended yesterday, and I couldn't be happier with the feedback from people who were able to stop in and see the collection. It was my first time having a solo show. While it was a tremendous amount of work, there was a considerable amount of pride and personal fulfillment in seeing all the pieces displayed on the walls. If you haven't printed any of your photos in a while, I encourage...
